“Wine into Water” Donations Double

“Wine into Water” Donations Double

by Jane Snibbe, Diocesan Coordinator for Episcopal Relief & Development

At the Diocesan Convention, three baskets containing five bottles of wine, and wine related items, were raffled off to raise funds for Episcopal Relief & Development's "Carry the Water" programs. The proceeds raised from this raffle totaled $560.00, and were doubled by the Matching Gift Challenge to $1120.00! It is hoped that the winners will enjoy the bounty of fine wines donated by members of St. Paul’s, Healdsburg and Good Shepherd, Cloverdale. Congratulations to the winners!

Also, five congregations committed to a "Wine into Water" event during 2015 to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of Episcopal Relief & Development. It is hoped that other congregations will consider some sort of fund raising for water project that we voted for in the resolution at Convention. The resolution reads: ” RESOLVED: that each congregation be invited to participate in this campaign, and to set their own goals of how many persons they would like to reach to bring clean water and education for good hygiene to those in need through the work of Episcopal Relief & Development.”

More information about these efforts can be found on the Episcopal Relief & Development website www.episcopalrelief.org. Please contact me via email at dickjanespot@comcast.net for information about the Wine into Water program from the Diocese of Olympia.

REMINDER: All donations to Episcopal Relief & Development, including Gifts for Life, are doubled until December 31, 2014!
