Vacaville Community Meal Program

Vacaville Community Meal Program

by Margaret Dunning, Epiphany Episcopal Church in Vacaville

For more than 12 years, Epiphany Episcopal Church has been providing free hot, nutritious meals to the hungry, homeless, elderly, and lonely of Vacaville. Every Friday evening the Community Meal program serves between 200 and 300 dinners in a friendly, caring, and non-judgmental atmosphere, and we estimate that we have provided over 120, 000 meals.

We now have five other faith communities participating; Unity Church of the Valley, Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, St. Mary’s and St. Joseph’s Catholic Churches, and Community Presbyterian Church. We hope to soon begin serving dinners on an additional night each week.

On Saturday, May 12th from 2 – 5 pm we will be holding the Spring Swing - our twelfth anniversary party and fundraising event at the Buck Mansion in Vacaville. The program includes gourmet hors d’oeuvres, wine tasting, and entertainment by the Will C. Wood Sylvan Singers, Stringers, and Tintinnabulists, and both live and silent auctions.
