The Rev. Andrea Baker Returns

The Rev. Andrea Baker Returns

by the Rev. Dr. Sean Cox, Rector, Faith, Cameron Park

We are so excited to have the Rev. Andrea Baker safely home! She was welcomed back by friends and family at the Sacramento Airport at the end of November, following a deployment to Afghanistan that began in April 2014, where she served as a battalion chaplain for an Aviation unit. The Rev. Andrea Baker is a chaplain in the U.S. Army Reserve and an Associate Rector at Faith, Cameron Park.

Andrea+ returned to church with Zac, The Ministry Dog, on November 30th, and blessed the congregation at the end of the service. Photos from this service are available on our Facebook page here:

During her deployment, it became clear that Andrea’s+ position at Faith, Cameron Park needed to increase from quarter-time to full-time. Thanks to the generosity of members of our congregation, Andrea+ will become a full-time member of the Faith, Cameron Park staff on January 1, 2015.

Zac will also have an office at the church, which he will graciously share with Andrea+. As a trained service dog, Zac will accompany Andrea+ on pastoral visits and other parish activities. Andrea+ will resume her ministry in the Army Reserve shortly after her return as well, with Zac at her side.
