The Rev. Canon Anthony Guillén is Missioner for Hispanic/Latino Ministries for The Episcopal Church. Canon Guillén has gathered a diverse and talented group of persons in the Church and has prepared a strategic plan for Latino/Hispanic ministry, which was adopted by the 76th General Convention in Anaheim in 2009.
As Missioner, Canon Guillén has assisted many dioceses and congregations in initiating new Latino/Hispanic ministries; collaborated with Morehouse Resources in the production of materials in Spanish; and initiated a project to produce a culturally relevant songbook for worship to enhance and support the growth of Latino/Hispanic ministry in The Episcopal Church. Prior to his appointment at the Church Center he served churches in Mexico and The Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles, where as rector of All Saints in Oxnard he helped to grow it into a vibrant bilingual congregation.
Canon Guillén is introducing the New Camino Conference in 2015, which invites a diocese into a process of accountability and partnership with congregations wishing to engage in Latino/Hispanic ministries.
