Lively Fellowship with Retired Clergy

Lively Fellowship with Retired Clergy

by the Rev. Christine Leigh-Taylor, Chaplain to Retired Clergy and Surviving Spouses, The Episcopal Diocese of Northern California

On Friday, April 29th, retired clergy from around the diocese enjoyed a delicious lunch with Bishop Beisner at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Napa. We began with a simple Eucharist in their beautiful church, and then adjourned for lively conversation and good food. The purpose of these occasional gatherings (we aim for twice a year) is just fellowship. The 23 attendees enjoy catching up with old friends and making new ones.

Our next retired clergy lunch with the bishop will be in October, probably on October 10th. We are looking for a location in the Sacramento area, and more details will be released as they are available. The contact person for these events is the Rev. Christine Leigh-Taylor, who is the chaplain to the retired clergy of our diocese. For more information, please contact the Rev. Leigh-Taylor at leighta@mcn.org.

Retiree Resources from the Church Pension Group

The Rev. Leigh-Taylor also recently returned from a national conference of chaplains to the retired, put on by the Church Pension Group (CPG).  There is a wealth of good information on health, finances, wellness, etc. in the "Learning" center on the CPG website, which is found here: www.cpg.org. This area of the website now contains CREDO information as well (there is no longer a separate CREDO site). No login or password is required.
