Kathryn Wallace Ordained

Kathryn Wallace Ordained

by the Ven. Cookie Clark, Archdeacon for Diaconal Ministries

On June 14, 2014 at Trinity Cathedral, Sacramento, Kathryn Wallace was ordained to the Sacred Order of Deacons by the Rt. Rev. Barry L. Beisner. Accompanied by banners from St. Barnabas, Mt. Shasta, where she is assigned, and St. Peter’s, Red Bluff, where she did her field work, Kathryn joined the 27 canonically resident deacons in the diocese. The Rev. Susan M. Reeve was the gospeler. Dr. Roderick Dugliss, dean of the School for Deacons, preached.

"I was overwhelmed with joy that every person dear to me was there," shares Kathryn. "I had such a fear that with all that was going on, I would get to ordination and not be present. That didn't happen! I was present. And it was extraordinary. If I spend the rest of my days working as a deacon and never receive anything else, I will still be overpaid! Thank you to all who made it possible and beautiful."
