Elements of Advent Concert - The Episcopal Diocese of Northern California

Contemporary music entitled, “Elements of Advent” will be performed by Kelseyville resident Mel Taylor on the Allen organ Wednesday, December 11th, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 1190 N. Forbes Street, Lakeport.

The variety of organ music will include religious jazz and classical, according to Taylor.

“All pieces are contemporary arrangements or compositions based on tradition hymns or carols," Taylor said. “Published since 1998, the music is by current composers.”

St. John’s parish organist since last year, Taylor earned his BA degree in music from Whitworth University in Spokane, Washington.

Cookies are available and a free-will donation is requested. Decoupage shingles from the 115-year-old church, are available for a suggested donation of $50. St. John’s resident artist Ray Farrow created the art to help defray costs from the recent restoration of the church’s west-facing exterior wall.
