On February 16, 2014 Bishop Beisner visited and offered blessings to the congregation (and building and grounds) at St. James’ Episcopal Church in Lincoln. Since his last visit, in September 2012, St. James' has undergone renovations and a transition from a mission to a parish at Diocesan Convention 2013.
Bishop Beisner blessed the new labyrinth with the Rev. Canon Tina Campbell; Dave Haisten; Bob Russi, Jr. Warden; and the Rev. William Rontani, Rector of St. James' (pictured right).
Bishop Beisner blessed the new church altar before communion; as well as Rector, the Rev. William Rontani; the first-ever Vestry; and several prayer shawls.
Additionally, Maria Johnson was received by Bishop Beisner on this day.
Following Bishop Beisner’s blessings, there was a celebratory luncheon on-site in Martin Hall that included a special musical performance.
The day closed with a meeting of Bishop Beisner and the Vestry in the newly remodeled Alley House. In attendance for the festivities, was Margaret Alley, former diocesan auditor and widow of the Rev. Canon Alfred Alley, for whom Alley House was named (pictured here with Bishop Beisner).
