2012 Catechumenate Institute

The Episcopal Diocese of Northern California Christian Formation Commission will host “Making Disciples: An Institute for Catechumenate Leaders” May 10-12, 2012 at Mercy Center, Auburn.

The three-day institute is designed to provide answers to what the catechumenate is, as well as how the catechumenate can be implemented in congregations. It is designed to respond to questions raised by those ministering in small and large, rural and urban congregations.

“So far our workshops on the catechumenate in this diocese have been brief explanations of what the process is about,” explains Jerry Paré, the institute organizer. “The how - the implementation - is best done through an initial experience of the process. This will be a brief, intense catechumenate on the catechumenate!” There will be a four-person leadership team for the institute.

The institute is limited to 35 people. Cost is $275/person, with a $25/person discount for those who register by February 1, 2012, or for three or more registrants from a congregation by April 1, 2012. Registration forms will be available after November 10, 2011. They will be available at Diocesan Convention, online and by mail to:
